Ewan Hastings has worked as a full-time fundraiser for a number of UK charities, both large and small, in a fundraising career spanning over 26 years. He loves passing on his fundraising knowledge, gleaned throughout his career, to help you on the road to success.
He was formerly a committee member of The Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Special Interest Group. He has also sat on the committee, and been Chair, of the Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Corporate Special Interest Group. He was latterly a board member of the Institute of Fundraising's, Fundraising Standards Advisory Board for Scotland. He was one of the first fundraisers to get the Institute of Fundraising's Certificate in Fundraising Management and Diploma in Fundraising Management qualifications which he self-funded to increase his knowledge of fundraising.
Ewan has spoken at two National Fundraising Conventions and five Scottish Fundraising Conferences organised by The Certified Institute of Fundraising on various aspects of fundraising, including raising funds from trusts and foundations and events.
He has also previously worked as a fundraising consultant, advising a number of smaller Edinburgh charities on their fundraising.
He has done trusts fundraising for over 18 years, and events fundraising throughout most of his time as a fundraiser. One of his best events ideas was conceiving and running the first Kilt Walk for homeless charity The Rock Trust. The event has gone on to become an icon of Scottish charity events fundraising, having raised many millions of £'s for charity, of which he is very proud.
He is married and has two grown-up children and lives with his wife just to the south of Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city. He works for Winning Leishman, a fundraising consultancy in Edinburgh.
